Arsenal had been linked with a surprise move for Leeds star.
Rob Green’s future at Leeds United was put into doubt last week as the Whites completed the signing of German goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald.
Wiedwald, 27, is 10 years younger than the veteran, and now rumours have emerged suggesting he is being lined up for a move by a top Premier League club.
The Sun (2/7 page 63) report Arsenal are keen on signing Green as cover for Petr Cech, with questions existing over back-up David Ospina.
Green is a high profile player who has Premier League experience with Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers, as well as at international level with England, notably the 2010 World Cup.
While that tournament underlined as a reminder that Green can always throw a mistake in there, also evident at Leeds last season on occasion, he is a talented goalkeeper still operating at a high level.
There is a still a strong chance he could beat competition from Wiedwald for the Leeds number one spot, with the former Werder Bremen stopper having to adapt to the English game.
If Arsenal are in for Green it could be hard for the veteran to turn them down, with the prospect of playing in the Europa League an attractive proposition for him.
