Leeds United’s Pontus Jansson has retained his place in the Sweden squad.

Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has retained his place in the Sweden squad despite mixed performances for the club.
Jansson was dropped by Leeds United in October, and looked unconvincing upon his recall.
He was beaten by Islam Slimani for Leicester’s goal last week in the Carabao Cup, and lost his man again as Derby County.

His place in the first team is questionable this weekend ahead of Leeds visit to Brentford.
Jansson was a fan favourite at Leeds last season and was recently rewarded for his contribution to the club with a new contract, but his recent loss of form has prompted questions to be asked about him which weren’t before hand.
Leeds announced Jansson’s call up for Sweden on the club’s Instagram page, and received a mixed reaction from fans with many negative.
- alfielufc How
- stevefromislington He’s been shocking in recent weeks
- jon.bull.58 They must be really desperate if they want Jansson!
- c2can He needs to start showing his worth
- harryrus2006 Well done jansson
- ragsta46 Hope they win then coz leeds dont
- marcoja19 How!! He’s been sh**
Leeds have lost six of their last seven games and so negativity at present is understandable.
Jansson’s loss of form is odd, and Leeds desperately need him to snap out of it.
Perhaps the international break is what he needs, but being dropped may have been a real wake up call for him.
