Will Leeds United hold onto Pablo Hernandez?
Israeli news outlet Ynet report Leeds United face interest from Maccabi Tel Aviv in playmaker Pablo Hernandez.
The Spaniard is under contract at Leeds for one more year, having had his contract extended in May.
Hernandez signed for previous Leeds boss Garry Monk and was integral in the club’s push for the play-offs last year.
Pablo Hernandez celebrates scoring
His place in the team is under threat from the imminent arrival of Huesca attacker Samu Saiz, but letting Hernandez go would be a risky move.
Leeds play 46 league games next season plus potential play-offs, and cup games, and asking Saiz to be an every game starter is a big ask considering he has never played in England.
In tandem with the more experienced Hernandez the duo could be a perfect combination in terms of splitting the load, and so suddenly cashing in on the former Swansea man could be an error.
Leeds’ Pablo Hernandez in action
Hernandez was missing from last night’s friendly game with North Ferriby United, and all eyes will be on whether he makes the trip on the club’s pre-season tour of Austria.
Leeds fans are a a little worried the club could be making a mistake, and have been expressing their reservations on social media.
