One of their former players enjoyed top flight status is ex-Leeds forward Mirco Antenucci, who is playing for SPAL in Serie A.
Last night the 33-year-old scored one of the best goals of his career when he truck a volley into the top corner to give SPAL a lead over Parma.

Antenucci was one who stood a chance of success, but the fact he was brought in on a two-year deal meant he was unlikely to last long term and after falling out of favour after repeated changes in management, he sought a return to Italy.#
It is hard to argue he made the wrong move, and last night’s goal was a sign he is still likely to play a prominent role this season.
