Leeds United have signed Everton defender Matthew Pennington on loan for the season.
Leeds United fans have praised Matthew Pennington’s first performance, following his loan move from Everton.
Pennington agreed to join Leeds on a season-long loan earlier this week, and quickly traveled to Austria to join up with Thomas Christiansen’s squad.
Pennington was then thrown at the deep end, as he partnered Liam Cooper in the second-half of Leeds’ friendly against Monchengladbach.
And the 23-year-old’s showing impressed the watching Whites fans.
Leeds took the lead against Gladbach when Luke Ayling finished well in the first-half.
Chris Wood and Kalvin Phillips then went close to extending Leeds’ advantage, before the German side equalised.
Leeds have one game remaining during their tour of Austria, which comes against Eibar.
Pennington is likely to feature again in that fixture, as he gets up to speed ahead of the new campaign.
Leeds’ first fixture in the Championship comes against Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium in early August.
