Leeds United fans recorded a valuable win against Bristol City in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Many Leeds fans on Twitter have hit back at Bristol City manager Lee Johnson after he claimed that he would ‘love to meet’ [Bristol Post] Marcelo Bielsa’s sides in the Championship play-offs at the end of the season.
The Yorkshire outfit recorded a 1-0 win over Johnson’s side at Ashton Gate, with striker Patrick Bamford scoring the only goal of the game early in the first half.
As a result of picking up those three points, Leeds remain in second place, two points behind leaders Norwich City and two points ahead of third-placed Sheffield United.
As for Bristol City, they are sitting seventh in the Championship table, one point behind Frank Lampard’s men and a further 16 points behind their weekend opponents.
As things stand, Bielsa’s side would be going up to the Premier League automatically, while City would be spending another season in the second tier of English football.
Nonetheless, Johnson’s comments after the match didn’t set well with the Leeds supporters who made their feelings known and reminded him about where his team are in the league.
Others simply pointed out that they picked up all three points, while another felt that he was just being ‘bitter’ because his team have done the double over his side.

On Tuesday night, Leeds can leapfrog Norwich City, who play Hull City on Wednesday, for a day if they pick up all three points at relegation-threatened Reading.
But dropped points or even a defeat can see them move back into the play-off places depending on what Chris Wilder’s side do when they welcome Brentford to Bramall Lane.
