Roofe netted Leeds’ first half equaliser from close range, showing he can be an instinctive poacher as well as scoring an excellent individual goal as he did at the weekend against Rotherham.
The former West Brom trainee has scored four goals in four Championship games this season.
His form is keeping £7 million signing Patrick Bamford on the bench and £4 million Tyler Roberts in the stands.
Leeds drew the game 2-2 at the Liberty Stadium, maintaining their unbeaten record while dropping their first points of the season.
They twice replied to Oli McBurnie strikes, with Pablo Hernandez scoring Leeds’ second equaliser.
Roofe’s goal came after excellent work from teenager Jamie Shackleton down the right, who started the game after a reshuffle prompted by a pre-game injury to Liam Cooper.
Manager Marcelo Bielsa withdrew Roofe after an hour to give Bamford a chance, but it is most likely to be Roofe who starts for Leeds away to Norwich City on Saturday.
