And the common consensus appears to be that the money would be far better spent on a lucrative contract for free agent Abel Hernandez.

The fee would be a lot easier for Palace to pay than Leeds, with the Whites not spending that sort of money on a striker since their days in the top flight, which came to an end back in 2004.
Leeds have received some recent investment, with shares sold to the San Francisco 49ers this week, but the Whites must still deliberate whether it would be good value for money.

Fans feel his experience makes him the better bet, and would rather see Leeds put their efforts and money into signing him, rather than Marriott.
