Teenage winger Jack Clarke provided Leeds United with a spark after being brought on at half-time against Reading.

He replaced the lacklustre Ezgjan Alioski, who was hauled off after another ineffective display.

The 18-year-old lifted the Elland Road crowd. Within 15 minutes Leeds had broken the deadlock, scoring through Stuart Dallas.

Leeds won 1-0, with Bailey-Peacock-Farrell’s 89th minute penalty save sealing the win.

Leeds moved up into second place as a result of the victory, with Middlesbrough only managing a draw in their game.

League leaders Norwich also dropped points, meaning Leeds narrowed the gap at the top of the table to just one point.

Clarke tired towards the end of the game but showed enough to demonstrate he should be considered for a first ever start.
