Leeds goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald could leave the club as soon as this week.

German newspaper BILD report Wiedwald could have his contract terminated in order to fast track a move to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Wiedwald’s first season at Leeds was beset by errors and he lost his place to youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

The German unsettled Leeds’ backline and while his departure was inevitable, it is positive that Leeds are acting quickly to address the situation.

New boss Marcelo Bielsa watched every Leeds game last season, the Yorkshire Evening Post reported.

With that in mind, Wiedwald never stood a chance of convincing the Argentine to try and give him a fresh start.

His reportedly upcoming departure is potentially a sign that Leeds are clearing the decks in order to bring in a new goalkeeper to provide competition for Peacock-Farrell.
