Leeds United had been linked with a move for David Stockdale, but Birmingham City snapped him up.

Leeds United fans are fuming, after they missed out on the opportunity to sign David Stockdale.

Stockdale announced his intentions to leave Brighton & Hove Albion at the end of the season, and many Leeds fans hoped that the goalkeeper would be brought to Elland Road.

Stockdale is a Leeds fan, and there was a feeling that a move to the Whites could have appealed.

However, Leeds’ failure to appoint a new manager, following Garry Monk’s departure, cost them the chance to sign Stockdale.

The 31-year-old instead has moved to Birmingham City, who were quick to snap him up.

And Leeds supporters are furious with the club for missing out on the chance to bring in the talented custodian.

Leeds are under pressure to find a new manager soon, with time running out before pre-season starts.

Leeds finished in seventh place last campaign, but they are yet to make a signing this summer – and there are fears that they could get left behind, with many of their Championship rivals already planning for the new term.
