Leeds United moved back to the top of the Championship table on Sunday afternoon.
Leeds United fans on Twitter have complimented Barnsley back after their manager stated that Marcelo Bielsa’s side are the best team in the league.
Daniel Stendel’s side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Leeds on Sunday at Oakwell – with some Leeds fans surprised by how their rivals played on the day.
The Whites fans stated that Barnsley, who just earned promotion from League One, will stay up this season if they carry on playing in that manner.
Stendel was full of praise for his Yorkshire rivals, as posted by Barnsley official Twitter account, with Leeds moving to the top of the Championship table.
Nonetheless, Leeds fans praised Stendel for the respect he showed towards their club, as they wished them luck for the season ahead.
Whilst Bielsa’s side will be pushing for promotion and those top two places, Stendel’s side will be hoping to maintain their status in England’s second-tier.
That result on Sunday means that Barnsley dropped into the bottom three, but they will be hoping to pick up some positive results in these coming weeks.
Both Leeds and Barnsley will now meet again in April at Elland Road when the promotion race and relegation race will be on a knife-edge.
