Leeds United striker Chris Wood struggled to make an impact against Ipswich.
Leeds United suffered their first league defeat of the season last night, going down 1-0 at home to Ipswich Town.
The manner of the loss was particularly disappointing, with Leeds only managing one single shot on target, via Mirco Antenucci.
A concerning aspect of that was £3 million summer signing Chris Wood was anonymous, attempting just the one shot.
He has had a mixed start to the season, his highlight being a spectacular late winner against Derby County, but last night he underwhelmed.
Part of the problem was a lack of quality service, with Leeds playing a narrow style with only one winger – Stuart Dallas – on the pitch.
To his credit he did manage to provide three key passes for his teammates, winning two aerial duels.
Yet in games like this, Leeds need a striker they spent big money on to become more of a handful for defenders, and just like against Brentford at the weekend he was easily contained.
Whether down to head coach Uwe Rosler, or Chris Wood himself, Leeds need to find a way to let the striker be more effective, and start having more of a forceful impact on games.
Here is a look at how Leeds fans reacted to his performance…
