Leeds United have signed striker Caleb Ekuban from Chievo Verona.
Leeds United added yet another new face to their ranks on Tuesday evening, as striker Caleb Ekuban joined the club from Italian side Chievo Verona.
The Whites had already secured deals for Felix Wiedwald, Vurnon Anita, Madger Gomes, Mateusz Klich and Hadi Sacko, and fans are also awaiting confirmation of the club’s deal for Samu Saiz.
On Tuesday though, Leeds confirmed the capture of Chievo Verona striker Caleb Ekuban, who is something of an unknown quantity as he begins his Elland Road career.
Ekuban, 22, came up through the ranks with Chievo but never made a first-team appearance for the club, and loan spells with Sudtirol, Lumezzane and Renate saw him score a combined 13 goals in 92 games.
Last term though, Ekuban enjoyed the finest spell of his career, as he hit 18 goals in 42 games whilst on loan at Albanian side Partizani Tirana before returning to Chievo.
Now, the Italian striker – who can also play for Ghana – has penned a four-year contract with Leeds after they agreed a fee with Chievo, prompting a mixed response from Leeds fans on Twitter.

Some fans believe that Ekuban is a punt at best, and Leeds have committed too much to such an proven player by handing a lengthy contract, with many far from impressed with the deal.
Others are more willing to give Ekuban a chance, pointing to Luciano Becchio as proof that strikers from lesser levels and football can become heroes at Elland Road, with some hoping to see Ekuban bring pace and power to the Leeds attack.
