Just seven months after leaving Leeds United for Barnsley, Alex Mowatt has been moved on for the season, joining Oxford.

Barnsley have decided to send Alex Mowatt on loan to League One side Oxford United for the season.
The Tykes announced the move last night shortly before the transfer deadline, hoping that it will kickstart the midfielder’s career.
Fans were convinced they had signed a gem in January when then Leeds United boss Garry Monk decided to sell him.

The 2014/15 Leeds player of the year was a popular player at Elland Road, but lost his way after Neil Redfearn was relieved of his duties as first team manager.
Three bosses tried to get him firing after Redfearn left, with Monk eventually giving up on the former England under-20 international.
Mowatt’s spell at Barnsley got off to a disastrous start when he was sent off on his debut, and he never really recovered.

This season he made just one Championship start, in the 3-1 opening defeat to Bristol City, and was not selected in the league since.
There is one former Leeds coach who still has faith, as he will link up with Garry Monk’s former assistant Pep Clotet who is Oxford manager.
His recent fall from grace has got Leeds fans talking. Here is a look at the reaction…
