The West Ham striker has been linked with a move to Elland Road this week.
West Ham’s Ashley Fletcher and Manchester City’s John Stones in action
Leeds United are still in the transfer market with the window shutting this week. One area in which they are desperate to strengthen is up front.
One name said to be on the list is West Ham United striker Ashley Fletcher.
The Sun reported today that Fletcher is a loan target for Leeds – after missing out on his permanent transfer last summer.
Earlier this summer it was reported that Leeds were trying to sign the player on a free transfer after he decided he did not want to stay at Manchester United.
West Ham United’s Ashley Fletcher looks dejected
However, despite the best efforts of Leeds owner Massimo Cellino, Fletcher ended up signing a deal at West Ham instead – as reported by the Daily Mail.
But Leeds obviously felt they could bring him in on a temporary deal – but that would now appear unlikely.
Fletcher started for West Ham against Manchester City in the Premier League today and with injuries to Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll it appears the young striker will be a more regular member of the West Ham first-team than previously believed.
Here is what Leeds fans thought about him starting , and his performance, on Twitter…
