Which players do Leeds United fans want to see at Elland Road this month?
After an outstanding start to the season under Garry Monk, Leeds United are looking more and more likely for promotion with each passing week. After a strong performance against Derby County, another team firmly in the promotion race, Leeds are closing the gap on the top two, and look odds on to at least finish in the play-offs.
Much of their success has come down to the excellent recruitment from Monk. Bringing in a number of players in the summer, such as defensive giants Pontus Jansson and Kyle Bartley, as well as attacking players such as Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez. But do Leeds United need to bring in a few more players in order to get them to the promised land of the Premier League? And who should they be looking at if so?
HITC Sport asked Leeds United fans these very questions…
Leeds United manager Garry Monk
“I’d like to see us get a striker in” said plenty of Leeds fans, who were clear on the area that needed improving. Despite Chris Wood’s resurgence under Monk, Leeds fans seemed adamant that the big New Zealander needed more support up top. One Leeds fan suggested Matty Taylor (Bristol Rovers) as a possible target. Another suggested Peter Crouch, despite the former England international picking up a new contract recently at Stoke City.
Other names suggested were David Nugent (who has just moved to Derby County), Lewis Grabban and Jordan Rhodes, who was sounded out as being potentially way out of United’s price range.
