Leeds United fans want the Burnley attacker to come the other way if and when Chris Wood joins the Premier League side.
Chris Wood made himself unavailable for Leeds United’s 2-0 win at Sunderland on Saturday.
Such an omission might suggest that the 25-year-old’s switch to Premier League outfit Burnley is close to materialising, with The Mirror reporting that the Clarets will pay Leeds around £15 million for Wood, who scored 30 goals last season.
It certainly seems as if he is on his way, but some fans of the Elland Road club on Twitter are keen for it to be a player-plus-cash deal – and they want that man to be Ashley Barnes.

The 27-year-old might be a decent addition, with experience of winning promotion, but he is hardly prolific.
His last Championship stint came with Burnley in the 2015-16 season, when he scored five times in 35 appearances as Sean Dyche’s side won promotion back to the top flight.
If he does wind up joining Thomas Christiansen’s squad in the deal for Wood, then Leeds must surely still sign another proven goalscorer in the second tier.
The New Zealand hitman, who struck 27 league goals last season, will leave some pretty big shoes to fill and the Whites’ promotion hopes undoubtedly hinge on how well Christiansen and Director of Football Victor Orta do in replacing the big man.
