Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa may want to strengthen his defence in the January transfer window.

Leeds United fans are keen on Mason Holgate, after Sky Sports reported yesterday that the Everton defender was available.

Everton are keen to loan out Holgate in January to get him more game time, and a move to Leeds could be good for the defender’s development.

Marcelo Bielsa has improved many of Leeds’ youngster’s performances since arriving at Elland Road.

And Leeds fans think that Holgate could improve their defensive options for the second half of the campaign.

Leeds have been left short at the back at times this season, with injuries proving problematic.

Bielsa opted against signing a centre-back in the summer, but could dip into the market in January.

So far Leeds have suggested that they won’t be busy in the new year, but the pressure is on to ensure that they do not fall away in the second half of the season.

The Whites are currently leading the way in the Championship, and Holgate’s arrival at Elland Road could ensure that Bielsa’s squad is strong enough to cope with the demands of the full Championship campaign.
