Leeds United fans may have reason to thank Garry Monk for putting Mateusz Klich on their radar.

Sky Sports reported how Monk had been the man to recommend Klich to Leeds during his time at Elland Road in 2016.

Although Monk did not get his man, Leeds went on to sign the Polish international the following year.

Klich had a troublesome first season at Elland Road, where he struggled to get much game time, and was loaned out.

But since Marcelo Bielsa arrived, Leeds fans are starting to see why Monk wanted Klich so badly.

Klich has been in wonderful form his season, and has become a key part of Leeds’ midfield.

Klich has even scored two goals in his last two international appearances, showing just how confident he is right now.

And Leeds may just have Monk to thank for helping them secure one of the stand out midfielders in the Championship.
