Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe has just over a year left on his current contract at Elland Road.

Leeds United supporters may just have reason to be concerned over the future of Kemar Roofe now.

Roofe has just over a year left on his contract at Leeds, and a new deal still has not been sorted out for the striker.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reported way back in November that Leeds’ priority was to sort out Roofe’s contract situation, but it is now seven months on from then and still no action has been taken.

Indeed, Marcelo Bielsa may well have been taking a risk with Roofe’s future, as he hasn’t been playing him much of late.

The £3 million striker (YEP) has been out injured for a chunk of the season, but since he has returned to fitness he has had to play second fiddle to the out of form Patrick Bamford at Elland Road.

Roofe, who is Leeds’ top scorer on 14 goals, may well be questioning whether it would be wise to sign a new contract at a club where he does not appear to be first choice right now.

And Leeds are playing a very risky game with Roofe’s future, as they are almost certain to receive bids for him in the summer, if his contract situation is still not sorted by then.
