The Frenchman was sent off as Wednesday lost to Aston Villa.
Sheffield Wednesday’s Vincent Sasso looks dejected
Sheffield Wednesday suffered another setback in their hunt for the play-offs at the weekend as they lost 2-0 at Aston Villa.
The Owls have won just one of their last five games and are now just two points ahead of Fulham in the hunt to stay in the top six.
Aston Villa were already 1-0 up through Jonathan Kodjia, who went on to score a brace, when Vincent Sasso saw red – much to the enjoyment of Leeds United fans.
The Frenchman made the headlines recently when he suggested that Wednesday were better than Leeds – despite losing to them twice this season and being further down the league table in the Championship.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Post he made the suggestion that Leeds were not the better of the two teams, stating:
“Leeds have beaten us twice this season, but I don’t think they are better than us.”

Leeds drew 0-0 with QPR on the same day, which saw them stretch away further from Wednesday and undoubtedly the Leeds support would have seen the funny side of Owls defender seeing red at Villa Park.
Just as long as Leeds do finish above Wednesday, the Elland Road faithful may have the last laugh.
