Leeds United are targeting departing Hull City striker.

Leeds United are eyeing a move for Hull City striker Abel Hernandez, the Yorkshire Evening Post report.
Hernandez is set to become available on a free transfer after letting his Hull City contract expire.

Hernandez missed the first part of the season with an injury but still managed to score eight league goals.
This was just two fewer than Leeds striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga, in 21 less appearances.
| Team | Goals | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pierre-Michel Lasogga | Leeds | 10 | 31 | 1,866 |
| Abel Hernández | Hull | 8 | 10 | 688 |
Hernandez is a proven Championship goalscorer and his arrival at Elland Road would help the Whites finally replace Chris Wood, who was sold in 2016.
Leeds failed to successfully replace Wood last season and Hernandez would be a big statement of intent.

When a player with Hernandez’s track record becomes available, interest will be high and Leeds will face serious competition from him, potentially even from Premier League clubs.
Yet this should not prevent Leeds from trying, and simply targeting the Uruguayan is being seen as a positive sign by supporters…
