Some Leeds United fans have disagreed with Marcelo Bielsa over his latest comments on Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Leeds were beaten 4-1 by West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, and Peacock-Farrell’s display was hardly encouraging.

The young stopper was at fault for West Brom’s second goal of the match, as he let Matt Phillips’ long range effort slip through his hands.

And the Northern Ireland international is now coming under severe pressure, after some shaky displays this season.

Peacock-Farrell has always been backed as Bielsa’s number one, but the calls for Jamal Blackman to come into Leeds’ line-up are only growing louder.

Bielsa, though, was quick to defend his current number one goalkeeper after the match.

He told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “I don’t think he has a high percentage of responsibility for the defeat.

“I don’t like to talk deeply about good things or bad things by one individual player, especially after a game like this one and especially when we lost with such a difference in the score. But what I can tell you for sure is that our goalkeeper is not responsible for the defeat.”

The comments have divided opinions at Leeds, with some supporters openly questioning Bielsa.

Despite their heavy defeat to West Brom, Leeds still remain in the thick of the promotion battle, after a strong opening to the campaign.
