Leeds United midfielder Liam Bridcutt did not make Thomas Christiansen’s squad for the first game of the season.

Leeds United fans are pleased with Thomas Christiansen’s latest comments, where he suggested that Liam Bridcutt still has a future at Elland Road.

Bridcutt was left out of Leeds’ squad for their first game of the season, which came against Bolton Wanderers on Sunday.

Initially there were fears that Bridcutt’s absence could mean that he was set to depart from Leeds.

However, Christiansen has recently told the Yorkshire Evening Post that the central midfielder remains a part of his plans.

And Leeds fans are delighted that Bridcutt looks set to stay at Leeds, as they feel he could still have a big role to play this season.

Leeds started with Kalvin Phillips and Eunan O’Kane as their central midfield duo against Bolton.

Bridcutt faces strong competition if he is to win his place back in Leeds’ team, as the additions of Samu Saiz and Mateusz Klich have seriously strengthened Christiansen’s midfield options.

Bridcutt could be set to feature for Leeds in their next match, which comes against Port Vale in the League Cup tomorrow.
