The Swansea City striker was himself linked with a move to Leeds United last summer.

Leeds United fans are bombarding Oli McBurnie with messages after the Swansea City striker tweeted, then deleted, a photo of himself and Daniel James on Thursday night.
McBurnie’s post arrived shortly after news filtered through that James’ proposed move to Leeds had collapsed.
The Telegraph reports the Whites had agreed a £1.5 million loan fee with Swansea, with an obligation to sign the winger permanently – at a potential cost of more than £10 million – should the club gain promotion to the Premier League this season
And the newspaper claims James had even passed a medical at Elland Road, before a late U-turn by the Swansea board, who insisted they were unhappy with the payment terms barely an hour before the 11pm transfer deadline.

But McBurnie was clearly delighted by the news, despite having been born in Leeds and played for the Whites at youth level.
The 22-year-old was a target for the Yorkshire club ahead of last summer’s transfer window, according to the Daily Mail, and a popular one with many of their fans.

But after last night’s antics, he is unlikely to find himself welcome any more back at Elland Road.
This is how those of a Leeds persuasion reacted to McBurnie’s message on Twitter…
