Leeds United fans have been left completely baffled by Thomas Christiansen’s decision to play Eunan O’Kane against Sheffield Wednesday, after the news broke that the midfielder needed painkilling injections before the contest.
Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill has revealed that O’Kane played for Leeds at Hillsborough, despite having cracked ribs, and the decision backfired on Christiansen.
O’Kane was miles off the pace, as Leeds were beaten 3-0 by Wednesday in their most recent outing.
And Leeds fans have questioned the logic behind starting an unfit O’Kane, ahead of the likes of Ronaldo Vieira or Mateusz Klich.
Leeds’ defeat to Wednesday was highly disappointing, and there are some concerns over their recent form, which has seen them slip down the Championship table.
Leeds have lost their last three away matches, with the Yorkshire side seemingly having a soft-core on their travels.
Leeds return to action after the international break, when they take on Reading.
