Leeds United are hoping to keep playmaker Pablo Hernandez.

Leeds United are busy preparing for this weekend’s game against Barnsley, but the future of Pablo Hernandez remains up in the air.
The Whites have endured a dismal 2018, and lost 1-0 at Aston Villa last weekend to make it 10 defeats in 18 league games since the turn of the year.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom is under huge pressure as he returns to face his former club, and he hasn’t pleased fans with his comments about playmaker Pablo Hernandez.

The 33-year-old, signed by Garry Monk in 2016 having worked together at Swansea City, has starred for Leeds this season with seven goals and eight assists in 39 Championship games.
However, his contract comes to an end this summer, and amid rumours linking him with a Monk reunion at Birmingham City this summer, Leeds haven’t yet tied the Spaniard down to a new deal.
Today, Heckingbottom suggested that there is no movement or update on Hernandez’s contract talks, and Leeds fans are now assuming the worst.
Fans have taken to Twitter to suggest that Hernandez is as good as gone if he hasn’t put pen-to-paper on a new deal yet, and believe that Leeds are making the same mistake as they did with Monk last season, leaving talks too late and allowing him to have his head turned by other options.
