Neil Warnock of Cardiff City and new Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen are battling it out with Ipswich Town’s Mick McCarthy and Wolves’ Nuno.

It’s easy to pass off the so-called ‘Manager of the Month curse’ as rather nonsensical. But you can’t deny that there are countless examples where recent recipients have been brought back to earth with a bump so soon after being lauded for their efforts over the past 30 days.
Therefore, you could forgive Leeds United supporters for hoping Thomas Christiansen isn’t forced to drink from the poison chalice – though the popular gaffer deserves plenty of credit for a fine start at Elland Road that has The Whites third in the Championship table.
Though there’s another reason many Leeds supporters do not believe the award should be on its way to Elland Road. There’s simply no ignoring the superb work done at Cardiff City by one Neil Warnock.

The former Leeds boss, who wasn’t exactly universally popular during his year at the helm from 2012 to 2013, is the runaway favourite after guiding unfancied Cardiff City to five wins out of five at the start of the new season.
Consequently, even the most ardent Leeds supporter would struggle to admit that the 68-year-old should lose out to English football newcomer Christiansen – not to mention Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy or Wolves’ Nuno Espirito Santo.
