Leeds United boss has given his backing to goalkeeper Thomas Christiansen.

Leeds United fans have expressed reservations over manager Thomas Christiansen insisting he will put his faith in under fire goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald.
Wiedwald’s form had been deteriorating prior to the loss at Sheffield Wednesday, and in that game he was was especially poor.
Fans had called for the German to be dropped for veteran Andy Lonergan, but Christiansen insisted during his Thursday press conference that Wiedwald has his support.

Christiansen was quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post: “He comes from a competitive league, the Bundesliga, and from a good team like Werder Bremen.
“Everyone has to settle in. I have to settle in still. We’ve only played a few games in this league and he’s not the only one, there are many others.
“He’s been in this situation before and he will, for sure, come over it. I have faith in all my players.”

Christiansen’s loyalty should be commended, but he needs Wiedwald to step up.
Leeds host Reading this weekend and they cannot afford for the goalkeeper to be a liability.
If he makes a mistake again, then his position as number one could be indefensible.
