Cooper was quizzed on why Leeds’ season had been so poor, after what was such a promising start.
And the centre-back claimed that Leeds had struggled to recover from a defeat to Millwall way back in September 2017.
He said: “It’s very tough to put your finger on it. I think the Millwall game hit us really hard.”
Millwall beat Leeds 1-0 at The Den, at a stage when the Whites were top of the Championship table.
However, Leeds fans cannot believe that Cooper has brought up a defeat from such a long time ago and blamed it for their current poor form.
Leeds have slipped all the way down from the top of the Championship standings into 14th place.
The Whites take on Queens Park Rangers in their final game, but Paul Heckingbottom’s side are only playing for pride, with their play offs hopes now long gone.
