Leeds United’s Pontus Jansson and West Ham United’s Marko Arnautovic are the so-called mavericks for their respective teams.

It is not something Leeds United supporters were perhaps expecting at the start of the summer, but they could be losing one of their key players in Pontus Jansson.

Leeds aren’t the only team who are seemingly set to part ways with one of their key players because West Ham United are facing a similar situation with Marko Arnautovic.

Starting with Jansson, West London Sport have claimed that the centre-back is closing in on a move to fellow Championship side Brentford.

Meanwhile, in the Premier League, West Ham’s hitman Arnautovic has completed a £22 million move to the Chinese Super League, as reported by BBC Sport.

There’s no doubt that both are unusual moves, and in some cases very unexpected, but it had to be done for the sake of the team.

Arnautovic’s situation is staring everyone in the face, as his constant transfer requests and desperate need to move to China just had to be met, so the team and the club as a whole can move forward.

As for Jansson, he is known to be a bit of a fiery and passionate character, just like Arnautovic, but once again if it benefits the team then Leeds are making the right choice in allowing him to leave. It’s just the destination, and price touted which is unusual

On their day, the duo are inspirational figures for their respective teams, with Arnautovic being that powerful goal threat, and Jansson being a defensive wall for the Yorkshire club.

If Leeds and West Ham react in the correct manner to these seemingly imminent transfers then 12 months down the line those who are departing might just regret their decision.
