Leeds United exile Jordan Botaka has sent a congratulatory tweet to Neeskens Kebano following the midfielder’s transfer to Fulham.

Kebano, who is named after the former Netherlands international, Johan Neeskens, signed for the Cottagers in a reported £3.8 million from Genk on Friday.

Botaka wrote: “Congratulations to my bro Neeskens Kebano for his move to Fulham ! Good luck bro !”

Botaka and Kebano are teammates at international level, where they represent the Democratic Republic of Congo.

As for club level, they will not be facing each other soon it seems, given that the Leeds winger has been loaned out to Charlton Athletic until the end of the campaign.

However, that does put the pair in close proximity with one another, should they wish to hang out in the meantime. Failing that, there is always a chance they could meet in the cups.

Kebano, an attacking midfielder, began his career at Paris Saint-Germain and later played for Caen on loan and Charleroi before moving onto Genk, for whom he scored nine goals in 46 appearances.

He becomes the London club’s 10th permanent summer signing, following Michael Madl, Floyd Ayite, Sone Aluko, Denis Odoi, Scott Malone, David Button, Kevin MacDonald, Jozabed and Ragnar Sigurdsson to Craven Cottage.
