Everton want Nicolo Zaniolo but the Roma attacker seems to be interested in making a deadline day move to Leeds United.

That’s according to Calciomercato over in Italy, who claim that Zaniolo has ‘made it clear’ that he likes the idea of joining Leeds.

Agent Claudio Vigorelli has been sorting through offers for Zaniolo ahead of the transfer deadline.

RB Leipzig, Everton, Southampton and AC Milan are all understood to have made proposals to sign Zaniolo.

Leeds appear to be a preferred destination right now but the problem surrounds the formula offered by all clubs.

The interested teams are all offering a loan with option to buy which would become an obligation based on certain criteria.

Roma don’t want that kind of deal and want to sell right now, so Zaniolo’s potential move to Elland Road is in the balance.

Nicolo Zaniolo would be quite the coup for Leeds United

This has been a positive transfer window for Leeds.

A new defender arrived in Maximilian Wober, offering versatility to play at left back or centre back.

Striker Georginio Rutter then joined in a huge deal from Hoffenheim before Weston McKennie came in to bolster the midfield.

Those are three first-team additions for Leeds and Zaniolo would cap off a superb window.

The 23-year-old has shown real promise in Italy but two major knee injuries have seen him blow hot and cold in recent times.

Zaniolo has scored just once in 13 Serie A games and seemingly needs a fresh start away from Rome.

A skilful and dangerous attacker who can play up front, as a number 10 or in from the right flank, Zaniolo can provide an extra bit of magic in the final third.

Tottenham have been very interested, so much so that reports from Italian journalist Rudy Galetti earlier this month suggested that Zaniolo had already agreed terms with Spurs.

Tottenham ended up signing Arnaut Danjuma instead and Leeds could now pull off a major coup by luring Zaniolo to Elland Road.
