Leeds United allowed Elia Caprile to join Bari over the summer and the goalkeeper is now being compared to Superman over in Italy.

Caprile joined Leeds from Chievo back in 2020 with Victor Orta continuing his pursuit of young talent from around the globe.

Yet whilst some of those signings are either around the Leeds first team or look set to be in the coming years, others have had to move on.

Caprile was one of them as he was sold to Bari over the summer after a loan spell at Pro Patria.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper has been making a big impact at Bari and his agent suggested in September that Caprile was already attracting interest from other clubs.

Caprile is even being backed to sign for Napoli in January with his performances in Serie B attracting major interest.

Premier League clubs are even keen on Caprile according to Serie B News.

Elia Caprile compared to Superman after Leeds exit

Bari were in action against Modena on Sunday and claimed a thumping 4-1 win despite being down to 10 men from 2-0 up.

Modena’s goal came in the 95th minute and Caprile may be gutted to have lost his clean sheet at the death.

Now third in the Serie B table, Bari are chasing promotion – and Caprile is earning huge praise.

Tuttomercatoweb rated Caprile at 7.5 out of 10 for his display on Sunday. No Bari player scored a higher rating.

They suggested that Caprile must have been wearing a Superman costume underneath his kit because he was so good.

Modena launched a ridiculous 26 shots at the Bari goal, landing 10 on target – yet lost 4-1 to a team who had eight shots and five on target.

Caprile was the difference between the two teams and few would really blame Victor Orta and co if he was starting to think he has sold Caprile a little early.

Still, it would have been hard for the Italian to displace Illan Meslier at Elland Road and the move to Bari is certainly doing wonders for his career.

Let’s just hope that Leeds have a hefty sell-on clause in place.
