Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has responded to Barry Douglas’s post on Instagram following his appearance for Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
Douglas joined Championship side Blackburn on loan from Premier League club Leeds in the summer transfer window.
The 31-year-old left-back was in action for Rovers in their league game against Coventry City away from home on Saturday.
The Scotland international started the match and played for 61 minutes, as Tony Mowbray’s side won 4-0.
Douglas has taken to Instagram to revel in the win for Blackburn, and Leeds defender Ayling has responded to his post.
Douglas wrote on Instagram: “Nice to be back out there enjoying the ball .. an enjoyable win on the road is a positive also 🙏🏼💙 #rovers”
Ayling responded: “Stuff you love to see 🙌🏻💙”
How did Barry Douglas play for Blackburn Rovers?
Douglas was given an early yellow card, and that did affect his game slightly.
However, the Scotland international showed his experience and was solid defensively, and he also contributed in attack.
It was the left-back’s first competitive match in a while, and considering that, it must be said that the former Wolverhampton Wanderers star did well.
According to WhoScored, Douglas played four key passes, had a pass accuracy of 76.6%, won two headers, took 74 touches, made two interceptions, and put in four crosses.
