Leeds United central defender Liam Cooper has given his reaction on Twitter to Rangers manager Steven Gerrard signing Kemar Roofe.
Rangers have signed former Leeds striker Roofe from Belgian club Anderlecht, as announced on the Gers’ official website.
The 27-year-old striker has moved to Gerrard’s side on a four-year contract.
Cooper played with Roofe at Leeds, and the central defender has sent a message to his former teammate on Twitter, and is pleased for the transfer.
Good signing for Rangers?
Roofe has had injury problems at Anderlecht this past season, but when fit and available, the former West Bromwich Albion man is a very good striker who scores a lot of goals.
Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe are brilliant strikers, and Roofe will make the Gers even better in attack.
With Rangers aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title this season, they need quality players, and Roofe will make the team stronger and give manager Gerrard more options.
Stats
According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old scored six goals in 13 Jupiler League games and scored one goal in two cup ties for Anderlecht during the 2019-20 season.
During the 2018-19 campaign, Roofe scored 15 goals and provided two assists in the Championship for Leeds, and scored 11 goals and provided three assists in the league for the Whites during the 2017-18 season, according to WhoScored.
