Huddersfield could theoretically make a controversial move for Charlie Taylor

Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor is on the lookout for a new team after running his contract down at Elland Road.

The left-back refused to play in the final game of the season, hoping to avoid an injury which would wreck his Premier League dream, but he tarnished his reputation in the process.

Now a team which are potentially in play are Premier League new boys Huddersfield Town, who could offer Taylor the chance to play top flight football and stay in Yorkshire.

It could be ideal for Taylor, except for the fact that Huddersfield already have a talented left-back who is arguably superior.

The Terriers signed Chris Lowe last summer from Kaiserslautern on a three-year deal and the former Borussia Dortmund man was a terrific addition.

He was a near ever present in Town’s back four, and his stats are superior to Charlie Taylor’s.

Lowe recorded more tackles won per game, more interceptions, and was more effective from an attacking perspective.

The German created almost twice the number of chances per appearance and had a superior passing accuracy.

Huddersfield are the current surprise favourites to sign Leeds striker Chris Wood with SkyBet, but Taylor is not a player they necessarily need to go in for too, even though it would be convenient for the defender.
