Leeds United’s Paudie O’Connor has a huge month ahead at Blackpool.

Leeds United fans were a little puzzled when Paudie O’Connor was sent out on loan this season.
The young Ireland centre-back impressed for the first team at the end of last season and Leeds have a thin group of defensive options.
So far they have got by well enough, and O’Connor is out on loan at Blackpool, where he has been in and out of the side.
He has made seven appearances for Blackpool so far, some of which has come off the bench.
Now he has the perfect incentive to really raise his game, with Blackpool landing a plum Carabao Cup tie away to Arsenal.
Playing away at The Emirates in the cup is the sort of tie Leeds would have dreamed of landing, and Blackpool are no different.

The match takes place on October 28 and O’Connor has a month to force his way into the Tangerines’ first team and show he deserves to start the fixture.
There would be no better way for him to define his Blackpool stint as a success by leading the team to a giant killing, or to really catch the eye of Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa.
It’s a golden chance, and O’Connor needs to work hard to make sure he gets to take advantage.
