Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has been discussing his future with Swedish paper Fotbollskanalen this week, in which he admitted a desire to one day return to his boyhood club Malmo.

Of course Jansson is not the only big Swedish talent, currently playing in England, to have come through the ranks at Malmo.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was with the club from a young age and the Manchester United superstar made his professional debut whilst at the club.

He has now reached his advanced football years, but is still scoring goals for United, even at 35-years-old.

But would he return to Malmo at the end of his career. The Leeds player would love to see it, but feels it is unlikely. He joked:

“I do not expect him (to return to Malmo). He is just a fake Malmoit.

“No, it would be a dream if he did come here, but it is hard to see it happening.”

First and foremost, Jansson is brave calling the outspoken Zlatan a fake! But secondly, he is probably right regarding his potential return to Sweden.

Zlatan may be getting on, but his 28 goals in 43 games for Manchester United this season certainly suggest he still has a lot to offer at the higher spectrum of the game.

If he is ever going to return to Malmo, it will not be for a long time yet.
