Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has raved about Liverpool midfielder James Milner on the club’s YouTube channel.
Ayling has named Milner, who can operate as a midfielder, winger or full-back, in his dream Leeds five-a-side team.
The 29-year-old was handed a choice of Alf-Inge Haaland, Olivier Dacourt, Milner, Lee Bowyer and David Batty for his midfield, and he picked the Liverpool star, who started his professional club football at Elland Road.
Ayling said on Leeds’s YouTube channel, as transcribed by Leeds Live: “I’m going to put James Milner in there, I think he’ll have a runaround for me and work hard.”
Evergreen footballer
Milner may be 34 years of age now, but he is as strong as ever and remains an important player for Liverpool.
The former England international has played a big role in the Reds winning the Champions League and the Premier League over the past two seasons.
The former Newcastle United and Aston Villa star works hard for the team, and his ability to play in a number of positions is an asset for the Reds.
According to WhoScored, Milner made nine starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League, and made four starts and four substitute appearances in the Champions League for Liverpool last season.
