Leeds United were offered the chance to sign Derby County striker Chris Martin.

Derby notified Leeds to let them know that Martin was up for grabs this month, but the Whites decided against moving for the striker.
That could turn out to be a decision which comes back to haunt the Whites, as they look for a forward.

Of course, Leeds still have plenty of time left to find a new front man, but it is difficult to believe that they will be able to find too many better options than Martin.
Martin has struggled this season, but he practically guarantees goals at Championship level.
The Scotland international has always scored prolifically in the second tier, and he could have been a great option for Thomas Christiansen’s side.

Christiansen likes to play with a powerful forward, who can hold the play up, and Martin would have offered a great target to play off.
His arrival would also have relieved some of the pressure building on Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta to bring in some proven players.
Martin was said to be on a big salary at Derby, but Leeds may regret not breaking their wage structure to sign the forward, if their striking problems continue and they miss out on a play off spot as a result.
