Leeds United’s youth recruitment has been impressive in recent years, and Northern Irish talent Cormac Austin could be the latest addition.

Victor Orta has placed a great focus on Leeds’ development squad ever since arriving at Elland Road.

Not all of the moves have worked out, with the likes of Bryce Hosannah, Ousama Siddiki and Kun Temenuzhkov failing to break through.

Pascal Struijk has been a huge success though, and there are high hopes for the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Lewis Bate, Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt.

Leeds must continue their youth recruitment though, and Austin looks to be the latest target.

Austin set for Leeds trial

News has filtered from Northern Ireland suggesting that Linfield youngster Cormac Austin is heading to Leeds soon.

St Mary’s Christian Brothers’ Grammar School in Belfast have announced that their pupil Austin is poised for a trial at Leeds.

It was only earlier this month that Linfield boss David Healy – a former Leeds striker – admitted that Austin would likely leave soon.

The 15-year-old has already played for Linfield’s first team and is being backed for a huge future.

Healy is resigned to losing Austin, and if he shines on trial at Leeds, he could follow in his manager’s footsteps.
