Leeds United and Newcastle United are considering making bids for Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien, according to TEAMtalk.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, Burnley and Norwich City all are also keen on the 23-year-old midfielder.

Leeds, Newcastle, Burnley and Norwich all are considering making moves for the Englishman.

The report has added that Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds made a bid of £13 million for O’Brien in the summer of 2021, but Huddersfield wanted £15 million.

Leeds United need Lewis O’Brien

In our opinion, Leeds could do with O’Brien in their squad for the second half of the season and beyond.

The 23-year-old is a very good and dynamic midfielder who would make the Whites better and stronger in the middle of the park.

Leeds have had injury problems in all areas of the department this season.

Yes, Adam Forshaw is back now, but Kalvin Phillips will be out until March.

O’Brien is only 23, which means that he would be able to grow and progress at Leeds and stay at the club for a long time.

The Huddersfield no. 8 has scored two goals and provided one assist in 23 Championship matches so far this season.

O’Brien – described by former Huddersfield goalkeeper Matt Glennon as ‘technically outstanding’ in The Sunday Mirror (22/08 p64) – scored three goals and gave three assists in the Championship last season.
