Leeds United invested a lot in young players over the summer.

Leeds United’s under-23 side underwent an even more radical overhaul in the summer than the first team.
Young talents were brought into the club from across Europe, even leaving Real Madrid and Barcelona behind, and new coaching staff were appointed.
So far though results have not been great, with the under-23s sitting in eighth place of 11 teams in their division.

Leeds chief executive Angus Kinnear was quizzed about the team’s results during his interview on BBC Radio Leeds on Wednesday evening (15/11 6pm).
Kinnear said that he did not feel the results were especially important.
He said: “We are encouraged by the quality of players we’ve been able to bring in. Real Madrid, Ajax, attracted some real quality.
“It’s a little bit too simplistic to look at results. There’s no prizes for winning under-23 leagues sadly, it’s all about how r they are performing, an developing talent for first team.”
Leeds have proven they are willing to give young players a chance in the first team in recent years, with the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Ronaldo Vieira, and Conor Shaughnessy all breaking through.
There are not players in the under-23 side at present that appear on the verge of following them just yet, but Kinnear is hopeful this will be the case if not later this season then next.
