Leeds United fans are hoping for new faces in January.
Leeds United’s woeful recent form has left supporters hoping help is on the way in the January transfer window.
Fortunately they may be about to get what they want.
Leeds chief executive Angus Kinnear spoke to BBC Radio Leeds last night (15/11 6pm) and was quizzed whether there is money available to spend.
Kinnear said there will be funds available, providing the right opportunities are there.
He said: “There is money to spend. If we need to strengthen the squad we will do it. If we have a specific need and we can find a good solution we will do business.”
Elaborating a little more, Kinnear hinted that Leeds could also try to bring in some players with potential for the future too.
He added: “There’s two kinds of business. Addressing immediate needs, and looking further into the future.
“It will be a conversation led by Thomas [Christiansen], with Victor [Orta]’s insight into the market and if we can provide something which is stronger.”
Early on in the season it had seemed that Leeds summer business had struck gold, but as results have slid dramatically, more questions are being asked.
Leeds are in 10th place in the Championship and remain in touch with the play-off race.
But if their current form keeps up between now and January then they will be in the bottom half of the table and a substantial fix could be required, rather than just one or two tweaks.
