Dean Smith felt the grass at Elland Road was a little long, which Leeds found hilarious.

Leeds United finally won their first game of 2018 earlier today, beating Brentford 1-0 at Elland Road.

Liam Cooper headed the only goal of the game as Leeds picked up three points and perhaps kept their slim hopes of the play-offs alive.

It was a solid and composed performance from Leeds and few could argue they didn’t deserve the win.

But Brentford boss Dean Smith was not happy after the game. He felt that Leeds got the rub of the green in the fixture from the referee. He also complained about the length of the Elland Road grass.

As reported by the YEP on twitter it was suggested that Smith was not happy with the turf at Leeds, which obviously saw Leeds fans aim pelters at their rival’s boss for sour grapes.

The fans were not alone. In fact, the official Leeds United twitter account got involved as well.

They sent this tweet after the game, clearly in the direction of the Brentford manager:

Now if this is not the definition of good banter, what is?

Nice one Leeds, and hopefully Smith can get over the defeat and trolling in double-quick time.
