Leeds head coach Uwe Rosler sounded impressed with Steve Morison.
With new signing Chris Wood out injured, Steve Morison seized a chance to impress new boss Uwe Rosler.
The veteran striker, who struggled badly for goals last season despite his committed displays, was selected up front for the club’s pre-season friendly game against Frankfurt.
Morison scored the opener for Leeds, scoring from a Sam Byram assist, a strike which will no doubt give him confidence for the upcoming campaign.
He played 71 minutes of the game, which Leeds went onto lose 2-1, substituted for Souleymane Doukara.
Head coach Uwe Rosler seemed pleased with Morison’s display, going on to praise his performance.
He told LUTV: “He was leading the line very well. I think he used experience, when to press, when to drop back, when to flick on, and obviously he scored a goal.
“He had a good game, but there were a lot of performances. I’d like to highlight the team and the work ethic. that was very impressive.”
Morison was a player whose work ethic delighted former head coach Neil Redfearn, even if he could not get the reward for his efforts. Chris Wood possesses similar attributes, but as a stand in, Morison did his chances this season no harm at all last night.
