The diminutive midfielder was in fine form, alongside Kalvin Phillips, as Leeds picked up a 3-2 victory at the Macron Stadium.
O’Kane’s composure and passing ability allowed Leeds to get a strangle hold on the match, and win the midfield battle.
It was those qualities which Leeds lacked badly towards the end of last campaign, as they slipped out of the top six.
And Thomas Christiansen’s decision to promote O’Kane into his starting line-up is already starting to highlight Monk’s mistake.
O’Kane will now be looking to hold down his place in Leeds’ team, amid fierce competition, and more performances of the standard that he put in against Bolton should help his cause.
