Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen has told Leeds Live that he feels Wolverhampton Wanderers are a step above any other team in the division.

Leeds are set to take on one of Wolves’ rivals for automatic promotion in Aston Villa tomorrow evening.

And although Christiansen considers Villa to be in with a chance of claiming a top two spot, the Leeds boss admits that he thinks Wolves are a cut above the rest.

“Wolves is one step above that but Aston Villa, Middlesbrough are top teams who will for sure try to be in the promotion direct,” Christiansen said.

Wolves are currently leading the way in the Championship table, and Leeds have seen how dangerous Nuno’s side can be.

Wolves beat the Whites 4-1 when the two sides met at Molineux earlier this season.

As things stand, Wolves are nine points clear of Villa, but Steve Bruce’s side have been in excellent form of late.

Villa started the campaign slowly, but are starting to click into top gear now and will move just two points behind second place, if they are able to beat Leeds on Friday.

Leeds are also aiming for promotion this term, but they currently sit in eighth place in the Championship standings.
